I created a resume in Word that looks and prints out perfectly. However,
when I send it as an attachment the people receiving it say that the resume
looks fine except that the cursor shows up on it! What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

It's a MS Word document, the cursor will always show up unless you make
it in a format that isn't writable (think HTML or PDF as an example. I
don't recommend letting Word saving the file as HTML format, it will
butcher the format so only MSIE can render it. Firefox or other
browsers will give up on the HTML file. Other examples are GIF images
or the like).

As long as you're sending the file as a .doc -- others can modify your
resume. This can very possibly be the reason PDF format resumes are
gaining popularity over .DOC
