Resume Windows Update SP1 Win 98

I did all of the download and about 80% of the Install late last night and
stopped because it seemed to have slowed down a lot. This morning an icon for
resume windows update was on my desktop, but clicking on that brought a
message about a proxy server. I do not have LAN. I have dial up, 56k. I
checked in Control Panel/Internet Options and dial up is properly configured
and automatic configuration in the LAN Settings is unchecked, so I don't know
what the problem is. One message in windows update says it is successfully
installed, but it doesn't show in Add/Remove Programs, and then another
message in Red says that I have to resume. There is no way to get out of this
cycle where it says I have to add 80 to my proxy window, etc.

Note: I am trying to resume install of SP1 for Win 98 in case my original
post isn't clear. The whole subject line doesn't show.
