how do i find questions i've previously asked, and their answers. i have
found the right page once, but not again, and now have several questions (and
hopefully answers) sitting out in hyperspace.

Use a newsreader. It will make it easier for you to track what is
happening..

You are using the web-based interface to this newsgroup. That's
clearly the worst possible way to participate here and also the worst
possible way to search here.

To participate, use a newsreader, such as Outlook Express, which comes
with Windows. See
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/ou...snewreader.htm

To search the newsgroups (your question above) use the Googlegroups
Advanced Search, at http://groups.google.com/advanced_search?q=&

As this is a Vista newsgroup presumably the OP is running Vista.
What is the point of directing the OP to Outlook Express and saying it comes with Windows ?

Outlook Express in windows vista? not

Hit your "Start Orb" type windows mail and hit enter.

If you want to set up an email account you can, otherwise cancel out of the
wizard.

It comes pre-configured for Microsoft newsgroups. on the Left pane click
where it says "Microsoft Communities" when it asks you if you want to
download the groups select yes.

once it's done find this group:
microsoft.public.windows.vista.general

and search for your name or email

I think he needs to update his "Carey" (copy-and-paste) files.

You're right, of course. I posted a canned message I often use, and
neglected to change the text from Outlook Express to Windows Mail.
Thanks for pointing it out.

However, note that Windows Mail, which is what comes with Vista
instead of Outlook Express, is essentially just the latest version of
Outlook Express. They simply gave it a new name instead of a new
version number.

I know that, I don't need you to tell me to 'note' it.
Unfortunately the OP is probably totally confused by now, thanks to your post.
