Hi,

I'm trying to restore a PC from Vista to XP using the Windows.old folder. I
understand most of the instructions I find here:

Z:\Freelance\May 2007\Uninstall Vista Upgrade\How to restore a computer to a
previous Windows installation after you install Windows Vista.htm

What I don't understand is what "y" refers to in the following:

move /y"c:\windows.old\documents and settings" c:\

Can anyone explain?

Many Thanks

Karl

=================================
I'm thinking the Y stands for Yes...if you
copy / paste the command it should do
it's job.

To get info on a command and its switches, type /? (with a space) after a
command. For example,
move /?
Press Enter.

Y in the 'move' command suppresses prompting for overwriting an existing file in the destination location
-Y forces prompting to query for overwriting.
