How do I RIP music CDs on Media Center 12/Windows 7?
There is no longer a RIP tab as was on MC 11, and the Auto Play menu does
not have a RIP option.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

You're a bit confused, I think you are asking a question about Media Player,
not Media Center, they are two different things. Your question will get
more/better help in a Media Player fourm.

If you put a CD in the computer, switch to the Library view or Media Player
and you should see the Rip option.

You are right. I should have been in the player group. So far, thank you for
your help.
Unfortunately, in Media Player 12 there is no "Library" view and no "Rip"
tab, at least I could not find them. I do have them on my other laptop that
runs Vista with Media player 11.

Any suggestions? Are there any other players/rip music devices out there?
Thanks,
Erik

Open help and type RIP. It'll bring up step-by-step instructions on how to
do it.

"If Windows Media Player isn't open, it will open in Now Playing mode when an
audio CD is inserted into the CD drive. If the Player Library is open when you insert
a CD, then the Player Library will remain open. You can rip a CD and adjust rip
settings in either mode. Click the Switch to Library button or the Switch to Now
Playing button to toggle between modes. "
