how do i add my laptop, which is using winxp home ed, to my vista ultimate's
roaming profile??

I'm afraid it can't be done.

Roaming Profiles work in a domain. You need to configure the Profile as
"Roaming" in AD. Then when a user logs in to the domain, the roaming profile
is downloaded from the DC to their workstation.

Windows XP Home cannot join an AD Domain - only XP Professional can join a
Domain. So, XP Home cannot use a roaming profile.
