I have upgraded to 8.1 - and have had nothing but problems - I frequently get
the message that a message can't be sent to all recipients - when there is
only one recipient and they aren't getting my mewssages anyway - people are
shown as off-line when they are not and on-line when they are not - can I
roll back to the previous version - and how - please?

Greetings,

Just uninstall it from Add or Remove Programs, and grab Windows Messenger 8.0 from here:
http://microsoft.com/downloads/detai...d-48dd23026b9d

I'd really be interested in if this solves your problem.

It worked for me.
I upgraded my 8.0 to 8.1 in Vista Bis and it never came to the front. It
would appear to load but never ask to log on and never got to the systray.
Reinstalling 8.0 worked fine.
Thank you

Hi David,

Interesting, there's some issues in 8.0 on Vista with regards to the toasts (alerts), and
some audio/video problems but otherwise it should work okay.
