rollout date of xp sp3 via automatic updates?

the long awaited roll out date of xp sp3 was yesterday, yet although
about 5 updates came out, none was sp3?

I need to know the release date.

It was released over a month ago. Apparently your computer isn't ready
for SP3 so you weren't offered it.

yes, XP SP3 was available for download via microsoft/windows update a
month ago.

But it was not scheduled to be download automatically via automatic
updates onto PC until yesterday.

There are two completely different dates.

I was offered SP3 weeks ago via Auto Update.

What makes you think my comptuer is not ready?
Ive done all possible updates, even the ones that came out yesterday.

I have about 15 computers and none of them are getting sp3 offered via
automatic updates.

I dont beleive anyone was supposed to get sp3 until yesterday unless
it was initiated wtih microsoft updates or download from microsoft.com
or a private wsus server, im scratching my head on what is going on
here. Does anyone else have any input?

I need it to know specifically when sp3 will be download as Ive made a
comptuer program which will fix some registry problems on an image and
allow it to install.

The image being an Intel image loaded onto a computer with an AMD
processor, specifically an HP or Compaq computer? If so, that's why it
wasn't offered. You need to download the .ISO, burn it to a CD and use that.

I have not been offered SP3 by auto update yet either. If I go to
Microsoft update I am offered it. I have XP on about 5 computers here
all different hardware and none have been offered it by auto update,
just by Microsoft Update.

It's hard to say, since MS rolls it out in stages for automatic update.

What do you mean by "roll out in stages"?
Why dont atleast some of my comptuers been offered it then.
I believe automatic updates come out every few weeks on mondays or so
to everyone.

The script Im deploying is to about 3000+ computers.
It needs to be semi synchronized with the roll out of sp3

Service packs are not rolled out at once to all machines. They are rolled
out in stages: Different times, different days, different weeks...I don't
know their criteria...perhaps geographically.
