Roxio Creator 9 doesnt work without net connection

I have installed Roxio Creater 9 on my Vista Business. If I am not connected
to the internet(I have to go through a authentication-based proxy server), I
cannot run Roxio Creator and it simply crashes with Vista giving the option
of reporting etc. But when I am connected, it works fine. Please note that
this problem is not resolved by the driver patch meant to solve the driver
incompatibility problem.
