Novice that I am actually did this procedure. I even learned how to do an
Event View and saw thousands of errors. Which I sent to Microsoft and the
report says Corrupted disc ( or some such) and I get no results from running
the chkdsk. I tried to do a chkntfs but didn't know how to put in what drive
so I never got to the part that has choose Repair. My husband thinks I will
have to start clean and I have seen some evidence of the that on-line as well
that Roxio does not mix well with Vista. Dell should be more accountable for
bundling this in and the way Roxio takes root like a virus. While all this
has been frustrating I have learned quite a bit. My kids are home from
college and because this will be a long process I am waiting to save and redo
everything. I don't even know if that is the answer for the problem and I
don't think Dell knows. SO I have time to explore... other Ideas.
Thanks for your help!
