After I installed SP1 today, all third party burning software will not
recognize my DVD drive as a burning drive. I can only burn from the embedded
windows burning software. What gives? Please help anyone..... My drive is a
TSSTCorp TS-L532R.

A device driver is not installed, or a hardware device does not function
correctly after you install Windows Vista Service Pack 1:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=948187
Method 2 in this article should get the DVD working again.

Thanks, but I already tried that and it did not work. Roxio Easy CD creator
and other third party burning software still only sees my drive as a CDROM.

In My Computer, rightclick the DVD drive. Sometimes the Recording tab of the
device properties, it fails to set the device in the drop box for that.

Hi, i've got the same problem!
after the sp1 install i get the yellow exclamation mark in manage devices
and i was unable to see my dvd drive in "my computer".... the solution
KB948187 doesn't work and the dvd drive manufacturer tells me that the vista
driver are the most up to date....

i changed my dvd-rw drive with another one and now i can access the drive,
but every burning software tells me that i don't have a dvd writer.....
