Is there any way to use a switch or argument in a shortcut's "target" to
have the application run as administrator, instead of setting the shortcut's
advanced properties to that setting ? For example... the target reads:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Office\msword.ex e

Is there a Run As Administrator switch to tack on the end of the string ?

Navigate in Windows Explorer to the msword.exe you list above... then...
open properties for that exe and on the compatibility tab, click the "Run
this program as an administrator" check box.
