Run-time 53 error!!

Hey guys

Not sure whats wrong but everytime i SHUTDOWN or RESTART i recieve an error
saying

'Run-time error '53':

File not found


Its comming from a file called update...
Does anyone know how to disable this?
im clues as to this being a windows update, windows installs updates upon
shutdown or restart of the computer. Ive got a new laptop i dont know whats
wrong! someone please help me out

What applications are running when you shut the machine down? System tray,
taskbar etc

I have a desktop pc and I have the same problem, I have checked to see what's
running in the background, and running on the task bar. Nothing other than my
speaker icon is running. I have run all suggested registry scans, virus
scans, I even updated my sound card and graphics card, nothing seems to work.
Does anybody know how to eliminate this run-time 53 error problem?????
