Hi,

I have installed a Windows Core server and turned on the Hyper-V role and
called it CORE-01. I then placed it on a different IP subnet: I am on
192.168.1.0/24 and \\CORE-01 is on 192.168.0.0/24.

I want to be able to administer the Hyper-V server on \\CORE-01 from my
Vista x64 desktop. I have installed the tool, and tried to open it with
\\CORE-01's admin creadentials:
runas /user:CORE-01\Administrator "C:\Program Files\Hyper-V\virtmgmt.msc"

But I get this error message:
Enter the password for CORE-01\Administrator:
Attempting to start C:\Program Files\Hyper-V\virtmgmt.msc as user
"CORE-01\Admin
istrator" ...
RUNAS ERROR: Unable to run - C:\Program Files\Hyper-V\virtmgmt.msc
1326: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

Now I know that the username and password are correct. What more should I
have to do? The Win firewall has been turned off on \\CORE-01.

Please help!!

TIA,

Jarryd

Can you connect if you put CORE-01 on the same subnet as your client?
