This Rundll32 problem with Windows Vista is all over this forum and all over
the internet - over 2.5 million hits in Google. I have the problem on my
Vista Ultimate 64 bit system. I know people down the street from my house
that have the problem. And, NO I don't run Nero. Microsoft needs to step
up to the plate and fix this problem.

Most every "rundll32" problem is different. What are the specific fault
details for the rundll32 crash you're referring to? You can find those
details in the Problem Reports and Solutions Center control panel under
"View Problem History". Or in the Administrative Tools "Event Viewer", but
I like the Problem Reports and Solutions Center control panel more.

Depends on the search term: "vista rundll32 problems" gets 409,000.
It's not just ONE problem, it's a lot more than that.

Anyone who might be able to help you will need more than a list of
your neighbors and that you don't run Nero.

Step up to the plate and provide more information.

What's the exact command line that you're running rundll32.exe with? You
can probably get that data with Process Explorer from SysInternals if you
don't know how to get that.

I'm not running the dll from the command line.
btw I'm running Vista Ultimate 64bit. For instance everytime I run Visual
Studio 2008 as an administrator I get a dialog saying Rundll32 has stopped
working. does that tell you anything?

I'll rephrase:
rundll32.exe is being run here to perform some action. This is likely
supplied via the command line. That command line is important to me at
least. You could likely gather the information about what command line is
used via either:
* Process Explorer
or
* debugging the crash

So: what command line is rundll32.exe being run with?

Alternatively if you do not know how to gather this data, you could likely
put a DMP file up on a site such as megaupload , since it would be easy to
run "!peb" and check the command line in use here and thus go on to looking
at the actual problem.
