Runtime Error with Internet Explorer 7

I cannot access Internet Explorer 7. An error message comes up :

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the applications support team for more information.

Can anyone advise how to solve this problem as I have used Internet Explorer
before. Thanks.
