I have installed Activesync 3.8 to a win 2000 computer. the sycn process
worked for one day and now when activesync tries to connect to the device I
get the following error. Runtime Error! Program C:\Program Files\Microsoft
ActiveSync\WCESMgr.exe
R6025 - pure virtual function call

I tried it on a different pc and it works fine (even the next day)

thansk

Hi,
Have you tried reinstalling ActiveSync?

Are you logged in as the local administrator on the PC?

yes to both. I uninstalled and reinstalled it synced successfully the first
time to establish a new partnership but when asked to sync again it threw
the runtime error.

Hi,
Did you install ActiveSync 4.0 and then revert back to 3.8?

Also based on some cursory research on the internet, the error can be caused
by a conflict with other applications. Do you have a VPN or other network
software installed?

The server running our vision software is Windows 2003 Server Standard
Edition. Our enterprise environment is a mix of Windows 2000/2003 with a
handful of Windows NT 4.0 servers.

Hi,
Officially Microsoft does not support installing ActiveSync 3.x on a server.

Unforntunately I am not at the location. We are not installing on the
server we are installing on a local pc. We installed a Symbol PPT8800 at the
location (Physicians office) and we get the runtime error. We installed on
another PC in the same office and the program works fine. So now we are
trying to figure out why activesync craps out on 1 pc and not another. The
network admin claims there are no differences between the 2 pc's
