Hi folks,

Window Updates informs that I have a new driver update for my Nvida
nForce Serial ATA driver provided by Nvidia. Now, if my memory recalls
correctly that is the moment once it has been installed on my pc, the
windows activation programs pop up asking me to insert a valid OEM
key.

I don't want to download this update as has anybody else has any
issues with this?

Cheers,

Boabyboy

If you install this update you will likely have to reactivate your computer.

In my case, activation was OK but I was told that my system was not
"Genuine".

Install it at your own risk!

Well, I am going to just leave it then.

That's silly.

If there is a system update, then install it!

It could contain bug fixes or other improvements.

If Windows asks to Activate again (doubtful from a driver update), then do
it!

What are you afraid of?

If the SATA drives are working, leave well enough alone. In my case the
error was not repairable. I had to go back to an image created the day
before. Now I block the update.

BTW, everyone knows that you should get hardware updates from the
manufacturer.

I wouldn't download it. I downloaded an "updated" video driver and it blew
the monitor resolution. Resolution required for Aero was not available.
Fortunately, I was able to roll back.

I don't recommend using the windows update for your nvidia driver, I just
tried that tonight and I don't know what driver it installed but nothing
worked right afterwards. I went to the NVIDIA site for the correct driver!
