Safemode

I have a packard bell tower and 233 speed...... The problem is... When i
start-up p/c ..it wants to go in dos mode and safe mod and system is running
very slow ..dragging bad! Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could
be? Please help!! Desperate..i feel like its gonna crash anytime and virus
scan detect's no viruses! Thank you

233MHz?
Your problem could be that the processor is fairly underpowered.

However - you never really stated what Operating System you are running?
Nor if the "233 speed" was actually your processor?
Or how much RAM (memory) your system had?
Or how much hard disk space (total and free) you had?
Or how old this system might be?
How you were protected from viruses/trojans?
How you were protected from and had cleaned up your system of spyware/adware
and other malware?
If you were on a high-speed internet connection or dial-up?
If you had any sort of firewall so that when you were on the Internet - it
would be a little difficult to access your system?

Have you done any basic maintenance on the system? Updates? Patches?
CHKDSK/SCANDISK or DEFRAG? Checked your installed applications and removed
those you do not use/need or even know how they got installed? etc?
