Same issue here on 2008 Standard Edition

I have the same experience on a 2008 Standard Edition that happens to be a HyperV file server that is running on a 2008 R2 HA Cluster. None of the other 8 virtual servers have this issue but then again this is the only server that is running user shares. It happens to be our Home Drive share server and of course when it flakes out those people who have the mapped User drive to their share get all locked up and it hangs their machine terribly to the point of not responding at all. We map the drives by using their user profile path on their AD user object.

I reboot of the HyperV file server fixes it but as everyone else said there is no errors reported in the event log. It seems like resources as well however I can remote to the server or console and it functions and operates perfectly as well as sees all of its shares local. Just not when you UNC to it or try the drive mapping.

I have plenty of Disk space and I have the Virtual integration tools installed and up to date.
