BillB,
Open the registry editor from Start > Run > type in
regedit
Click OK
Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Msxml2.FreeThr eadedDOMDocument.4.0\CLSID
Right click CLSID and choose Permissions
BOTH Administrators and System must have Full Control and Read
permissions to get this update to install.
Redownload the update once more:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
Close the browser and any other open programs
Now run msxml4-KB927978-enu.exe
If you are presented with the options of Repair, Remove, Modify, suggest
you choose Remove. Then if you are prompted to restart the system, do so.
If you are NOT presented with the 3 options it *should* install.
IF not prompted to restart, then run msxml4-KB927978-enu.exe once more
and it *should* install.
