I'm not sure where to post this query so I'll try here.

On my motherboard I have 5 serial connectors shaped | |

where the one on the bottom left is orange. My one SATA drive is connected
to the top right connector (labeled SATA0 while the bottom right is labeled
SATA4) . If I wish to add a second serial drive - I don't have a motherboard
book - which serial connector am I supposed to use? I don't want a RAID
system. I just want a drive C and a drive D. Sorry if this is too sophmoric
a question but I can't seem to find the requested info on Intel's site. I
have Schroeder Town (G33) motherboard.

it really does not matter if you connect 2nd SATA drive to 2 3 or
4............and RAID will not be activated unless you activate it in the
BIOS.

Thanks for the response - I appreciate it. Getting way too old for this
"new" tech stuff.

Hi, Jim.

> Getting way too old for this "new" tech stuff.

Now I'm worried! I turned 72 in July. Just how old is "way too old"? How
much longer do I have? :^{

I got my first 4 SATA drives last year and created my first RAID last fall,
just in time to install my new EPoX AM2 motherboard (six SATA and 2 eSATA
connectors - having the motherboard manual does make it a lot easier!) and
install Vista Ultimate x64 RTM, after more than a year of beta-testing it.

Lots of computer adventures! Still having lots of fun. ;<)
