Hi - Being a senior on a tight budget I can't afford to buy a new computer
that will handle XP so Windows 98SE will have to do. Knowing mid July is the
cut off date for support I've been downloading the critical updates from
Windows Update but can't save those files in a folder to utilize when I have
to reformat. I have "Search Microsoft.com" and downloaded some updates I
need. Others Microsoft will allow me to download from the update site
directly to my operating system but makes no provision to download these to a
disk to be stored for future use. Am I out of luck or am I missing something
? - Thanks

How to download updates and drivers from the Windows Update Catalog
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323166

Use Method 2 to access the Windows Update Catalog.

From the list of OS', choose Windows98 to access the needed updates.
Save them to the Hard Drive. You can then burn them to CD, if so desired.
