Only my music files (15gigs) and Old Time Radio files (45gigs) are
somewhere else... a completely different drive. OOPS... and my Temp
Inet files and page file too. And my Photoshop swap file.

I think that covers it <g>

Depends upon where they are saved. System restore doesn't interfere with
files in the 'documents' folder but other folders, on the same drive, it can
reek havoc. Any downloads you have made will probably be lost; it doesn't
always happen but I have had instances when restoring were I have lost
downloaded files that haven't been stored in the 'documents' folder.

I personally don't use system restore; it is permanently disabled on my
system. System restore was only introduced to enable you to restore your
'system' if you encountered problems when installing an application it isn't
a fail safe mechanism.

My advise would be to back up any files you feel are important to either a
CD/DVD, removable drive or USB stick prior to doing a system restore. I much
prefer to keep a current 'image' of my hard drive just in case disaster
strikes.

System Restore affects (operating) system and application files not data
files.

All your pictures, movies, word docs etc will not be affected, but of course
you should have your own backup routine in place anyway just in case system
restore doesn't go as planned.
