Saving Favorites in IE7

Hi All

When I bought my new Dell Dimension 9200 with Vista home installed on it, it
also came with I.E.7. My question is this: It appears that the ONLY way one
can save "favorites" is to the general "Favorites" folder. You then have to
open Windows Explorer and manually move the saved favorites to any folder
you've made.

Anyone found this problem but me? And if so, has anyone found a solution to
it? I wrote MS when i first noticed this about 4 months ago, and received an
acknowledgement of receipt and a message saying it would be passed on to the
Vista team, but have never heard anything else since.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Are you saying that you have no 'Create in' drop-down box on the 'Add a
favourite' panel ?

When you have IE 7 open there is a star on the upper left side a little ways
down from the top. That's the favorites and to save the favorites you click
on the icon next to it, it has the start with a gree + on it. Unless I
misunderstood you, that is how I save favorites on mine. Also when you click
on the favorites button the top of the drop down has three choices,
Favorites, feeds and history. Make sure you have favorites clicked.

No problem. Good description. I enjoyed reading it - and if I had the
slightest idea what 'problem' the OP is having I may have posted my own
ideas too.

Hi KiwiNth

When you click "Add to Favorites" in IE7, it will add it the mai
"Favoites" folder as it should. If you want to move the link somewher
else you click "Organize Favorites" and move it where you like insid
the "Favorites" folder. If you want ro move it outside of th
"Favorites" folder, then simply right click on the link and choose you
option from the "Favorites" menu drop down. If you would like to ad
"Copy To Folder" and "Move To Folder" to the right click options, the
see this link

If this is what you meant. If not, please clarify it more please

When I click Tools > Add to Favorites, a dialog box opens asking me to create a
name for the link, a drop down list of existing folders and a button to create a
new folder. No need to go back into Favorites to later organize new links.

Don't you mean "Favorites" instead of "Tools"? And by default "tools" and "
favorites" do not show unless you enable them by right clicking in the tool
bar area and checking "menu bar".
