Im getting this message:

The problem was caused by Windows Vista, which is created by Microsoft
Corporation. You are running a beta version of Windows Vista, which is no
longer supported by Microsoft Corporation.

Recommendation

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For more information on how to upgrade to the retail version of Windows
Vista, go to the following website.

Microsoft Corporation

I bought the P.C with windows Vista home basic on a DVD, all packaged up as
it should be, which i later upgraded to the home premium version using the
windows anytime upgrade option.
according to belarc advisor its this version of windows:
Windows Vista Home Premium (build 6000)
which was purchased from a reputable dealer.
why is this message appearing? is it a virus of some sort?

Hi,

When do you get this message? Certain problem reports still respond with
this, even though it is incorrect.

take it back to the place you bought it and request a "real" version ... if
the store is not a "reputable" place then you should advise MS UK of
possible "fraud" ...

That will be the one. if i go inot control panel and problem reports and
solutions, infomration about other problems, upgrade the the latest retail
version of windows vista is listed.
when i click on that i get the " you are running a beta version that is no
longer supported" messgae.
under the see related problems section I get "this solution applies to
these problems"
Microsoft Sync center - Stopped working.

Ive only had this message once, while using WMP11 to sync a creative MP3
player.
what i would realy like to know is is this message something i should be
concerned about, ie is my P.C going to stop working until i get anouther
version of windows Vista ( ie do i need to contact the company that
supliedVista and demand a propper version or a re fund eityher form them or
my redit card company ), or is it just one of those wonderful microsoft
confusing error things

With WMP it is one of those confusing false error. Nothing to worry about at this point since it happened one single time. If it keeps showing this error continuously then I would say there is something wrong with your version of Vista..
