Well, "slow" is a matter of individual perception, unless you have metrics
to define it. From the desktop, the network would have no effect, so GB
or ArcNet, it would make no difference.
For SBS 2003, the RAM is ok, the MOBO and CPU are marginal, but that has
no effect on opening files. With the note that the "desktop" is not affected
by anything that happens on the server, *assuming* that the desktop is not
made up of shortcuts linked to the server, I suspect the desktops are in
need of cleaning, or the server RAID is not up to the task.
Just to be sure, run the BPA, fix anything it finds, and post up the unedited
results of:
ipconfig /all > c:\iptest.txt
