I have a SBS 2003 sp2 domain/network.
1. I want to migrate [AD, exchange, mailboxes, everything ] to a new hw box
that I have running oem SBS 2003 R2.
2. I plan to migrate using Swing-It.
3. Because I want to keep some resource hog LOB apps on a second server by
themselves, I understand I need to upgrade/switch the original server from
SBS 2003 to another server o/s. I want it to be a Windows type o/s.

So, I have 2 questions:
a. How is my approach?
b. What Win server o/s do you recommend for the original server which will
become the second server in the "new" SBS domain?

Hello Plodder,

For MS support use the SBS NG:
microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs

If you like to use not MS software like Swing-It better post there your questions.
