Is it possible to connect a Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit client pc with sbs 2003
standard (not R2)? Any caveats?

Thanks

I hope not, That's what I'm using on one of my laptops
Yup it works.

The only thing I recommend is still using the 32Bit version of Office
because of Older Plugins (Like your PayPal Plugin)

I agree on the Office recommendation, which is only relevant to 2010, right?
I've heard this emphasized at length a number of times. When I move to
2010, I'll be tempted to try the 64 bit version of Excel, but unless I can
install both versions on the same box, I'm not sure I'll be able to test
that out--and for 90% of what I do, the 32-bit version will do fine.

You can't have both on the same box, from what I understand. So far, I've
stuck with the 32-bit versions, but I plan on setting up a VM with the
64-bit version and spending some time with it. To see what doesn't work.

Charlie, I didn't you you could do that?

When I tried to install Office 2010 64bit on a 64win7 that had office 2007
32bit,
I could never get it to install

I think it had an Issue on my other office 32bit
and Wanted me to remove them first?

Sorry I didn't troubleshoot it, I just installed the 32bit version and left
it.
for one reason I didn't want to uninstall Frontpage (Yes I still use it.)

I've heard other issues with Outlook Plugins
and I use the PayPal plugin a lot along with some others that I don't think
will work.

I'm just going safe on Office 2010 32bit because of the issues I've seen and
I know it works

Russ -- that's what I said, I think. You can't have both on the same
computer. But what I was proposing was a VM of Win7 that had the 64-bit
version on it. Probably as a VDI scenario to let me deploy as my desktop
when I want a 64-bit version of Office. As for add-ins to Office? Don't use
any that I can think of except the ones that let OneNote connect to Outlook
and Word, and if I have all as 64-bit, that should work, I hope.
