Are you running SBS on the physical hardware or a VM?
Are you running virtual machines as a guest of SBS?
How many NICs can SBS 'see'?

Hi all!
I have a brand new HP DL380 server, having two dualport onboard NICs (4
ports in total) (NC382i), Running SBS 2008.
There has been a DHCP server running from the firewall until now,
but it will be stopped as soon as the one on SBS is running correct.
The problem is simply; no clients get their IP -leases.
I have tried numerous things to solve this;
-removed and reinstalled the DHCP Server role.
-unauthorized, re-authorized the dhcp server
-deactivated and activated the scope.
-tripple checked the dhcp server settings (and also had two other senior
consultants check the settings)
-checked bindings NIC<->DHCP-service
-upgraded NIC Drivers
....etc
The DHCP Server service is running.
There is nothing loggend (when it comes to DHCP) in the eventlog,
except that it is stating ".. is authorized, and now serving clients..".
It does not shutdown the service even though there is another DHCP in the
lan currently. (it does not change it's behaviour wether i turn off the
other DHCP or not...) There is nothing installed on the server except SBS,
MS VirtualPC2007 and HP native software.
When starting a virtual XP machine (locally on the server), it will pick up
a lease from the server. -But nothing "outside" the box will pick it up.
When I try to renew the lease on my computer, after shutting down the
DHCP-serving firewall, I get an error on my pc stating something about a
loopback failure, then times out)
....
Please, any hints, tips, tools I can try.. ?
