SBS 2008 - Exchange 2007 Transport Rules to BCc mail to a mail Enabled Public Folder

Title says it all..

I need to setup some Exchange 2007 Transport Rules to BCc *all* mail to a
mail Enabled Public Folder for archiving purposes.

I find if I create them in ESM then I cannot target a Public Folder ...only
a Mailbox.

I need them in a Public Folder and not a Mailbox.

I think I'm going to need to do this in the Power Shell but am not that
familiar with what syntax to enter.

The mail-enabled Public Folder already exists, I just need the syntax for
creation of the rules.

Are there any good guides or references for this ?

Are you sure you don't want a Journaling Rule? Email retention for
compliance with things like SOX should be using Journaling rather than
Transport rules.

Actually, you can also target distribution and security groups.

The cmdlet for a new Journal rule is new-journalrule.
The cmdlet for a new Transport rule is new-transportrule.

Create a DG with the public folder as a member, and direct the rule to the
DG.

The only caveat is that since Exchange won't allow MEPFs as direct
recipients, it's possible that even including one in a DG might not work
(after all, MS are trying to kill off public folders!).

That's a good idea, I'll give that a go.

My real reason for doing this is to get the messages into a queue folder
whereupon they are processed by a CRM program and then if they meet a
particular criteria they are then stored in the CRM archive database, all
other copied messages are discarded.

We were having problem using the mailbox as a queue as when the CRM program
processes and subsequently deletes the messages anyone requesting a read
receipt got a message back saying that the messages was deleted without
being read.

Your idea sounds like a good one I'll give it a go.

Many thanks Steve.
