I have SBS 2003 with Exchange server installed. There are only 5 mailboxes.
Can you please share informations how to make manual Exchange backup with
built-in ntbackup and how to restore it (just in case).
Thnx

The automated SBS backup actually makes two copies of the exchage data bases,
but only the one under the exchange section of NT backup is of any real use
in normal circumstances. The file level backup could be used to exmerge,
but it would require a number of additional steps to mount it.

If you open NT Backup and navigate down the list, you will see Exchange with
a tick box. Tick that, and any other items you wish to backup, and run the
backup.

A restore would work the same, and it would not matter if you had a full
backup, including exchange, or just exchange on the media.
