What firewall are you using and is port 25 forwarded to the IP of your
external NIC?

Also it's better not to use egghead or other secondary entities and access
these MS newsgroups directly. Soon these MS newsgroups will be shut down
anyway and you should switch to the new forums:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...usinessserver/

They are also accessible via an NNTP bridge if you prefer to use a
newsreader.

in addition
Re Run the "Change IP Wizard" even though you won't change it
and then re run the CEICW Wizard again.

And why move to 2 NIC? I've been having people convert to 1 NIC
since SBS2008 is the 1 NIC Topology?

I am still having issues. I got netgear DG834G router and it is not letting me to select internal nic ip address. I disabled the routing and remote access services but still not working.

It won't forward to the internal NIC because that's in a different
network from the router's LAN address. You forward to the external NIC.
The DG834 works fine with SBS2003.

It sounds as if you need the help of a consultant here.

OK, on the assumption that you followed Russ' advice and reran the
relevant wizards, then the SBS should be set up correctly and you need
to find where the blockage is occurring.

Here is a useful technique for investigating SMTP servers:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/153119

First connect a computer temporarily to another LAN port on the router,
make sure you can ping the router and external SBS NIC, then try to
contact Exchange on the external IP address with this method. If you get
no reply, there's still an issue with the SBS configuration. If it's OK,
try again from outside your network, to test the router forwarding.

For a really quick and dirty test, go to http://grc.com from a LAN
workstation or your temporary router connection (don't surf with the
server) and select Shields Up!!, and click on the Common Ports button.
Ignore all the seriously alarmist messages, and just look for an open
port 25.
