scanning bar blank

I updated to the latest version of v5 and it seemed to work fine. Then two
days ago, the update bar went blank. The scanning indicators are missing.
I can not remember if they are green or blue.

This may not be a big deal. Update seems to work but when something changes
it makes me wonder.

Any ideas on how to check v5 or can I remove and reinstall it?

If it is important, I checked the 7 wuxxx.dll files mentioned in other
posts. All but one is version 5.4.3790.2182. wuauserv.dll is
5.4.3630.1106.
