scanning using photo gallery

so my printer is pre-vista and the software wont wor
so im using windows photo gallery to scan which is fine for singl
page
but i have a ton of photos to scan and it's making me press "impor
from scanner" EVERYTIM
is it possible to scan without having to open that up everytime
