I was wondering, instead of going directly to windowsupdate.microsoft.com,
can I create a scheduled task for my computer to go there directly every
Monday once I am connected to the internet?

Why not just use Automatic Updates in Control Panel? Set it to "Notify me
but don't automatically download or install them" and when something is
available, the system will notify you. Microsoft releases critical updates
usually on the first Tuesday of each month.
