Is it possible to disable indexing service and schedule indexing at certain
times/days of the week? Would be perfect! Say schedule indexing during lunch
time, and leave computer in peace during working times....

Hi Marcus,

Sorry no. You can disable the Index, but then it will not run again
until you enable it again.

You can Rebuild the Index during the times you want to help it not run
as much when you do not want to have it run. However, it will still
always run in the background updating itself with the changes you made
to the included indexed locations during slow or idle times.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Sure. You'd need to schedule two tasks using Task Scheduler to do this, one
to stop the indexing service and one to start it. The NET START and NET
STOP commands will start and stop, respectively, any named service. Use the
Help and Support tool in Vista for more details.

For me it works in the background, so I hardly know it is there....
