Schema Update

What are the features that i get just by upgrading the schema to either
Windows 2008 or Windows 2008 R2? i.e. without actually installing any
2008/2008R2 domain controllers.

None really. You need a combination of new OS and increased domain and/or
forest functional levels to realize any new (AD) feature capability.

Hello Russel,

Upgrading the schema only doesn't help. There are also OS version of all
DCs coming into play. Only Windows server 2008 R2 DCs will allow to use the
highest functional level and the features belonging to it. KJ already posted
the link about.
