Screen problem

I am using Hp Pavillion dv6228Tx with vista Home premium 32 bit.
My screen all on its own goes from being bright to dark shaded.
I have tried updating the OS as well as the NVIDIA. But the problem
persists.
Can anybody help.

Try setting your power settings to not reduce the screen intensity (if you
have a laptop).
