Whenever I restart my computer, from sleep mode, it resets the resoltuion to
an incorrect one. Again, it only happens when it comes back from sleep mode.
Help!

I'm searching for the same issue. It lowers it's resolution after sleep mode
ends. I have a new Dell Inspiron 1520. Let me know if you find an answer
and I'll do the same. Thanks!

Same problem. I hope someone can come up with a cause. It drives me nuts.
I have a Dell INspiron running on Windows Vista Home Premium. Are we seeing
a thread here?
I have set the resolution be a couple different methods - no effect. It
does not seem to do it all the time but with two of us using the computer it
is hard to telll if it is being closed (put to sleep) the same way.

Well I figured it out, but there is nothing I can do at this time. The
display driver needs to be updated. I have an Intel 965 display driver and
my computer already has the newest version, so until Intel comes out with a
new one......

After searching the internet I found a round about way of avoiding it, I
tested it and it worked.

Turn the power options off that put it in sleep mode when you close the lid.
From then on put it in sleep mode from the start menu, make sure it's in
sleep before you close the lid. Once it's sleep, close the lid. I did this
several times and when I reopened and made it "wake up" my resolution hadn't
changed.

I don't believe this is a Dell issue, but more of a Vista bug.

Hope this helps.

Don't you just love it? To get something to work you have to go through all
those girations in a shut down procedure. This is life made easier? Perhaps
a witch doctor?
The update of the video driver was a good lead. My Nvideo driver did have
an update available and the early results are good. Keep your fingers
crossed turn around twice and spit to the north.

I wish I was so lucky to have an update. But it looks as if not! I tried to
go to the Intel website to update and it says my computer company must
authorize!! You would think since I OWN the computer I could update it
myself!

Good luck!
