Screen stretched out

My entire screen looks like it's either been horizontally stretched or
vertically squished. The fonts are all fatter and shorter than normal,
pictures are wider and shorter than normal, everything's stretched out. I've
tried refreshing, turning off the computer, and changing the resolution.
Also, there are seemingly random lines on the screen that are blurry and
fuzzy.

This happened to my computer once a month ago, but resolved itself when I
restarted the computer.

What size is your monitor? What resolution are you running at? What
resolution changes have you tried?

Have you tried correcting it with the monitor's controls?

It's also possible that the monitor may be failing, and needs
replacement.

Sorry, I ought to have specified.
I'm on a Dell Inspiron e1505 laptop.
I've tried resolutions of 1024x768, 800x600, 1280x720, and 1280x800

1. Go to Dell's website for your model computer. Download the drivers
for your video card and install them.

2. If that doesn't fix the issue, call Dell tech support because it is a
hardware problem and you can't fix this yourself.
