Screensaver will not start

Windows Vista Ultimate with all updates and SP1 - screen saver has stopped
working - also the display will not blank at the time set either. I do not
have a wireless mouse (seems to be one cause) and I do not have any extra
DVD software (seems to be another cause)

Any ideas on how to debug this! Same with all screen savers

Hi,

Open Task Manager and selectively kill active processes a few at a time.
Allow the system to reach the timeout point. If the screensaver starts, then
you'll know it was one of the most recently killed processes. Repeat until
you isolate the cause, then address the cause by disabling it from actively
running. All sorts of processes can interfere with this function in addition
to wireless devices.
