You can use the Snipping Tool, which allows you to select the screenshot
area and save it where you want it.

http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Win...605b41033.mspx

If the Snipping Tool isn't available in your version of Vista (IIRC Basic
doesn't have it), then press the Prt Scrn key to capture the entire screen.
Pressing Alt + Prt Scrn will capture just the active window. Then open a
graphics program like MS Paint and Edit>Paste. Now save your screenshot
wherever you want to.

Two ways:

1) By design, as it has always been with every version of Windows,
pressing the <PrtScn> key copies the entire display, including the
Desktop Wallpaper, to the clipboard (iow, into RAM). Pressing
<ALT>+<PrtScn> copies only the active Window to the clipboard. To view
the screen capture, open a graphics program, such as MS Paint, and press
<CTRL>+V. This will paste the contents of the clipboard (your
screenshot) into the open file, and allow you to view it or save it as a
file for later use.

2) As long as you have a higher version of Vista than Home Basic, you
can use the Snipping Tool. (Start > All Programs > Accessories).

MWSnap freeware is similar to the Snipping Tool.
It works with Vista Basic (or XP).

Hello,
Other posters provided information for a Windows O.S. tool.
There are third party applications,
http://www.aplusfreeware.com/categor...neCapture.html
Download v 5.3 (free).
A little more versatile, includes copying the whole page (without scrolling).
take care.
