SD card slot after sp3 install does not work

Since i have installed SP3 I must uninstall usb in device mgr and reboot and
the sd card slot will work once. USB slots are fine. I have tried to update
drivers but they are good. If I uninstall SP3 all is well. Please, how can I
fix this as I use the SD card slot all the time. Toshiba Stellite U205-S5002
XP Pro
