I open c: drive and do a search for "temp." I want to find all the temp
folders and see if there is junk in them I can delete.

Search finds about 40 folders with the word "temp" in them and takes
about 25 seconds to do it.

I click on one of the found folders and it opens and I check out what is
in there.

I click the arrow to go back to the search list and the damn thing
starts over... it does the search again!!!

So... I try the "Save search" thing... but all that does is save the
search word... that's about as stupid a function as Microsoft has ever
thought up. What's the point in saving a search word when it just starts
over anyway?

In XP I could do what I wanted in search. Check one of the found folders
and go back to the search list. Is there a way to junk vista's search
and go back to xp's?

The search in vista is a retarded piece of junk...

I use XYPLORER's search feature with Vista.. I cant bear the stupid idiotic
vista search..
(there is a free version of xyplorer if you are interested)

what is outrageous is that some dorks (like frank for example) think the
vista search is one of the best improvements of vista!

LOL They are totally crazy...

MS tried to push that crap technology as Windows Seach add-on for xp too by
secretly installing it with live
gallyer (part of the live suite) however no doubt after the outcry of
thousands then changed that.

Now it's a separate download... that I will NEVER ALLOW on my XP machines...

what crap... vista crap!

You could do a search for .tmp files in C:\ now and again if you really want
to, but the only place you really should check that often is in your user
temp folder.

Just type %temp% into an address bar. You can also check out
C:\Windows\temp, but there will not be so much to delete there very often.

Are people supposed to be able to read your mind [what little of it
that is apparent]?

How do you KNOW that?

Did you happen to see that it has an option where you can set "custom"
folders for it to check?
