Search Companion Problem

Search Results do not return csv file names that actually do contain the
phrase for which I am searching. I am searching on 7210857915 stored as
General format. Search returns a list of xls and txt file names but not csv
file names. If I enter csv in the box “All or part of the document name:”,
no file names are returned. If I remove the string for which I am searching
from the box “A word or phrase in the document:”, I get all the csv files
listed. Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

Enter "ext:csv" in the search box (without the quotes). They changed the
syntax in Vista.

This is XP SP2
Putting ext:csv in All or part of the filename box returns the following
message: 'ext:' is not a valid folder and also inserts ext: in the Look in:
box

In XP, you would enter "*.csv" in the filename field to search for a file
with a "csv" extension.

BTW, this is a Media Center forum and deals with problems and issues
pertinent to the Media Center features; you would probably get more/better
help in an XP general newsgroup.
