Search function not working

In this forum I search for "zonealarm" and get no results. Yet in a post for
9/1/06 with a subject of "Problems", there are several instances of
"zonealarm" yet I get no search results.

Anybody have any idea what the problem is?

Steve

The search function only searches message headers, not message body.

So if someone posts a message that’s titled "Firewall problems" it would
come up in a search for "problems" whereas if they had searched for
"zonealarm" it would not come up.

That makes the search function very limited and not as useful as it could
be.

Thanks for the answer.

Actually, that is not true that search will only search headers. I did a
test and searched for "restricted NAT" in all forums and the results came
back where "restricted NAT" was found in the body of the message. In the
live messenger forum, do a search for "defrag" without the quotes. I get
nothing found, yet there is a post on 9/5/2006 with the subject "Windows
Defrag Issues..." that contains "defrag" in the body of the message and the
subject line.

Seems to be a problem.

I guess it depends on what software you're using to browse these newsgroups.
Some might be able to search the message body.
