Search opens System32 folder?

I was wondering if this only happens to me, but when I do a search
(starting with my C: drive) for a file, during the process a window
opens to the System32 folder and will not close until search stops. The
title on the window says "Please, locate the volume number 1"

While the window is open, on the bottom right there is a "Backup
Archives" button. If I click it, I get a list consisting of what appears
to be Chinese characters.

I do have my search set up to look in all folders.

Are you running Acronis True Image by any chance ?

Yes I am.. I checked the reference, which seems to occur while running
the software. I am not searching the backups since they are on an
external, non-operational drive. But perhaps the search is activating
something that opens the window?

I may start doing more refined searches and see if I can find out
exactly where the window is opened. I will also check the Acronis site.

You were right. I found an archive file (.tib) in
MyUser\AppData\Local\Temp inside another .tmp folder. It is strange I
could not find it during a normal search, but perhaps the search could
not get past the file and therefore would not show it present.

It was probably put there when I was playing with the program after I
got it. I removed the file, after making sure it was not usable, and
searches seem to work normally again.

That's good. I use Crap Cleaner once in a while to clear out temp files and junk.
