Searching for Available Udates

I am Running WXP-SP2 but can't get the Windows Update service to work. The
Windows Update page appears with the message that it is searching for
available updates. However, no matter how long I wait, nothing appears in the
blank screen area below the message. Normally, there would be a "Custome"
install option along with a "Express" install option. However, there is
nothing there at all.

I have searched the Troubleshooting tips and this newsgroup but have found
nothing to help me with the problem. Everything else on my computer works
fine....... I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

These instructions from Taurarian worked for me:

Try registering the following:

Click Start, select Run and type (pressing enter after each one and wait for
the
success message):

regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 atl.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll

Thanks for the note. I found this suggestion in another location and will try
it in the morning. Thanks again for the suggestion and instructions!
