Search your entire hard disk for these files:
flash.ocx
swflash.ocx
and delete any of those names that you find. Then try the update again.
If that doesn't work, another way of updating the Flash Player is as
follows:
In Windows Explorer, open:
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files
Right-click on "Shockwave Flash Object", and select "Update"
